Lisa Bergrud
Emergency Management
Assistant
My name is Lisa Bergrud and I am excited to have joined the Clay County Emergency Management team in May 2022. I certainly haven’t taken a direct path to get here but I’ve always been fascinated by natural and manmade disasters, particularly in what ways we can best help those who’ve been affected by them - and ways to prevent them in the first place.
My professional background includes experience in education (public & private) and social service organizations. I bring with me a range of skill sets in areas such as community mobilization, marketing, teaching (adults, children), public speaking, workshop facilitation, and grants management.
I’m a Midwest girl - born in Greensburg and raised in Andover, KS. I earned my bachelor’s degree from the University of Kansas School of Journalism. I have a master’s in Public Administration: Non-Profit & Community Services Management from Park University. I’ve called the Northland my home from the start and my partner and I have an active family life with four teenagers (Luke 19; Lily 18; Jon 17, Evan 13) and Zoey, our loud and adorable 4.5 pound Chocolate Yorkie.
I am proud to be a part of the Clay County Sheriff’s Office Emergency Management team and I look forward to meeting and working with you! Lisa
